Dr. Gauger joined the Norway Veterinary Hospital as an associate veterinarian in June of 1988 following his graduation from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He also attended MSU for undergraduate studies receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1984. He returned to Maine to join the practice that his father, Dr. Charles Gauger, started in 1963. In the 1990s, Dr. Gauger received advanced training in orthopedics and started a referral practice for area veterinarians – his areas of interest include fracture repair and joint surgery. Dr. Gauger currently resides in South Paris with his wife, Kristen, and their two children, Derek and Megan.

For the last few decades, we have been fortunate to have Dr. Todd Gauger call Norway Veterinary Hospital his home. He has devoted his career to the pets and families of our community, and we thought all of you should know that Dr. Gauger will be retiring in 2023. He will continue to see new orthopedic cases through December 2022, and will be available until February 9, 2023 to do follow-ups and rechecks.
